Organized By: The Hong Kong Policy Research Foundation (PRF),
Latest Activity: May 29, 2012
29 November to 1 December 2012 in Hong Kong.
The Summit is a non-profit activity organized by The Hong Kong Policy Research Foundation (PRF), a charitable organization, in conjunction with Hong Kong SAR Government Home Affairs Bureau and 16 civic groups in Hong Kong.
As annual event since 2008, the Social Enterprise Summit 2011 was very well attended with over 1,000 participants from China Mainland, Taiwan, Macao and the region, proving that the concept of social enterprise is increasingly drawing attention and support. The event continued to ‘convert the unconvertible’ and successfully aroused attention from various sectors in the region. The Summit also engaged students of over 10 universities and higher education institutions in Hong Kong, who participated in youth sessions arranged by the Organizers.
The tentative theme of this year’s Summit will be about “Rejuvenate our City through Social Innovations” and will mainly be in the form of a three-day symposium plus some other workshops and local SE visitations. Following the successful experiences since 2008, the organizers would like to give more emphasis in 2012 on the importance of cross sector partnership and corporate engagement.
We would also like to further enhance participation of the young people in the greater China region. We believe that the Summit 2012 will be another invaluable opportunity to bring together social enterprises, government officials, business leaders, NGOs, academics, students and interested individuals from this region to discuss social entrepreneurship. This year, we are expecting another 1,000
participants.
